Our Tree Removal Process
Our tree removal process, the day of the job, begins with a Kiefer Tree Service representative calling you the morning of the project to confirm our arrival time and estimated time to complete the job. We like to provide our customers with a two-hour window to arrive, given the nature of our work and previous customer commitments.
Tree removal beings with our lead cutter either climbing the tree or using a bucket truck to access the crown of the tree. We always remove trees from the top down, cutting off large limbs as we move down and safely lowering them to the ground for further cutting. We have a 2-4 person ground crew working at the base of the tree to dispose of tree debris and limbs to our chipper and/or stack the excess wood in a location of your choice. We will cut larger limbs into 3-foot sections suitable for splitting and firewood use. Further our ground crew maintenance safety on the ground from large limbs being lowered as well as maintaining the grounds around the tree from all kinds of sticks, leaves, and other tree debris. As our lead cutter further reduces the tree, at some point we will be left with just the main trunk. Here we can cut the trunk close to the ground for eventually stump grinding or at a height suitable for your purposes, such as a carving or stump planter. All the wood, leaves, and tree debris will be removed from your property per your specifications. We chip small limbs and branches providing mulch for your garden, or we can certainly haul it away along with excess wood. All species of tree do not make for good firewood. Only hardwood species are really acceptable for fire burning. Therefore, we are more than able and capable to haul your entire tree away should the wood have no value.
